چکیده
Objective: Evaluation of Antimicrobial and Antifungal potential Phytoconstituents present in leaf extracts Bergenia ligulata (wall.) plant. Methods: The antimicrobial effects leaves were evaluated using both ethanol aqueous against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans, Penicillium spp. Agar well diffusion method was employed determining the activity broth dilution for Minimum Inhibitory Concentration. All isolates examined susceptible to ethanol, aqueous, combined (synergetic effect) leaves. Results: zone inhibition ranged from 6.93±0.02b mm 12.81±0.03a mm, with coli being most at 11.53±0.02a 250 mg/ml concentration while P. aeruginosa Penicillin slightest 10.88±0.02a 09.76±0.02a extract concentration. control/standard agent (Gentamicin Metronidazole) exhibited higher inhibitory than plant extracts. least value 6.25 produced by ethanolic C. albicans (aqueous ethanol) qualitative quantitative phytochemical screening reveals presence flavonoids, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, steroids. abundant percentage composition observed flavonoids (7.72%), tannins had component (4.29%). Conclusion: findings this study show that hold considerable commonly encountered microorganisms environment. This, therefore, implies it can be used as a chemotherapeutic which will contribute development antibiotic drugs test organisms.
